Nathan H. Hitchcock
Nathaniel H. Hitchcock’s practice is devoted solely to defending persons accused of committing criminal offenses. At the Maine Criminal Defense Group, Attorney Hitchcock works closely with the other attorneys in the firm to provide a strong, zealous defense to a wide variety of criminal offenses.
Attorney Hitchcock regularly attends seminars and training focused on effectively defending his clients in every stage of a case. Recently, he completed the National Highway Traffic Safety Association’s course on administering Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, receiving the same training as law enforcement. He is also a member of the National College on DUI Defense, and the DUI Defense Lawyers Association.
He is a graduate of Hillsdale College in Michigan, where he majored in Political Economy and minored in Spanish. Attorney Hitchcock is a cum laude graduate of the University of Maine School of Law and a former Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition competitor. Attorney Hitchcock also completed a prestigious internship with the Maine Attorney General’s Office, where he focused primarily on large-scale drug prosecutions, but also assisted on financial crimes and homicide. With experience on both sides of the criminal justice system, he has developed an impressive repertoire of oral and written advocacy skills and now brings those considerable talents to bear on behalf of clients accused of committing criminal offenses.
Attorney Hitchcock is also committed to volunteerism and helping the community, serving as a Student Attorney for Prisoner Assistance at the Cumberland County Legal Aid Clinic, and representing indigent defendants in cases with serious consequences. Outside of the courtroom, he volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors for the Sanford Mainers Baseball Organization. He was also recently elected to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Sanford Sewerage District. In his free time, he also enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing trivia.

William T. Bly is a 2000 graduate of Rutgers University, where he majored in Political Science with a minor in U.S. History. He then went on to attend and graduate in 2004 from the University of Maine – School of Law. During his time in law school, Mr. Bly focused on criminal defense. He worked at the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office in Portland, Maine as an intern prosecutor. This experience allowed him to gain insight into the “ins and outs” of criminal prosecution in Maine.
