Corey Stone
Attorney Corey Stone has substantial experience representing the accused. After graduating from the University of Iowa College of Law with distinction, Attorney Stone practiced in the nationally esteemed Colorado Public Defender system. There, he represented clients in a wide range of cases, including domestic violence, OUI, and serious felonies like Drug Possession with Intent to Distribute, a wide variety of Sex Offenses, Felony Assault, Motor Vehicle Theft, Burglary, and Bank Robbery. During his time at the Colorado Public Defender’s Office, Attorney Stone was named the “County Court Attorney of the Year” in 2019.
Attorney Stone combines robust knowledge of constitutional law and appellate procedure with a passion for humanizing his clients. He is no stranger to zealous litigation and a jury trial, but also recognizes each clients’ circumstances are different, and their interests are best served by effective use of every tool in the defense attorney’s toolbox, including compelling mitigation presentations.
Attorney Stone developed his persuasive abilities as a nationally-ranked intercollegiate debate champion, and then later as a debate coach. He earned a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies, and applies that knowledge to the art of persuasive communication every day. At the University of Iowa College of Law, Attorney Stone focused on criminal law, where he completed three criminal defense internships, two of which were focused on appeals. During law school, Attorney Stone had the honor of arguing a criminal case before the Iowa Supreme Court as a third-year law student.
Attorney Stone resides in southern Maine with his wife. In his free time, he enjoys exploring Maine with his wife, traveling around the country as well as the world, and acting as the “Head Groundskeeper / Contractor / Pest Control Specialist / Carpenter” at their 100+ year old home.

William T. Bly is a 2000 graduate of Rutgers University, where he majored in Political Science with a minor in U.S. History. He then went on to attend and graduate in 2004 from the University of Maine – School of Law. During his time in law school, Mr. Bly focused on criminal defense. He worked at the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office in Portland, Maine as an intern prosecutor. This experience allowed him to gain insight into the “ins and outs” of criminal prosecution in Maine.
